The Allison Inn & Spa Debuts The Cuvée Weekend:
Two Exclusive Getaways Designed for Food and Wine Lovers
An exceptional blend of interactive culinary experiences showcasing
Northwest food and drink luminaries
The Allison Inn & Spa, Willamette Valley’s luxury wine country destination, introduces The Cuvée Weekend, two premium all-inclusive weekend packages that allows guests to escape the urban gray for nearby Oregon wine country. Guests at both weekends, set for February 27-28 and March 20-21, will indulge in intimate audiences, delicious tastings, winemaker dinners and hands on demonstrations.
In February, the weekend’s theme encourages guests to extend the romance of Valentine’s Day. February’s featured guests include chef Justin Woodward (Castagna, Portland), owner Tom Mortimer (Le Cadeau) and proprietor Ben Jacobsen (Jacobsen Salt Co.). In celebration of Women’s History Month, the spotlight in March is on women who shine in their respective food and drink fields. Special guests include chef/author Tamara Murphy (Terra Plata, Seattle), chef Kristen Murray (MAURICE), brewmaster Veronica Vega (Deschutes Brewery), winemaker Rollin Soles (Roco Winery) and owner Clare Carver (Big Table Farm). Celebrity mixologist Angel Teta (Atuala) and author Liz Crain (Food Lover’s Guide to Portland) will participate in both weekends.
Pierre Zreik, managing director of the Allison Inn & Spa explained: “We are offering the Allison Cuvée Weekends during a time of year when people want to escape their housebound routines in search of new experiences. Throughout the weekend, guests have multiple opportunities to interact with celebrated purveyors, winemakers, mixologists, brewers and chefs from Portland and Seattle. This blend of exceptional culinary and interactive programs combined with access to luminaries in a setting like the hills of the Willamette Valley is unparalleled.”
Each weekend begins at 4pm on Friday with an exclusive tasting event, the Cuvée Stroll, where guests will enjoy delicious artisan food and beverages while interacting with purveyors, winemakers and chefs in an uncrowded and unhurried atmosphere. Limited amounts of Cuvée Stroll-only a la carte tickets are available from the Allison Inn & Spa for $50.
On Friday and Saturday evening, guests will partake in a four-course winemakers’ dinner featuring participating vintners. During each Allison Cuvée Weekend, JORY executive chef Sunny Jin will collaborate with one of our region’s brightest culinary talents. On February 28, chef Justin Woodward will create dinner, and on March 21 dinner will be presented by chef Tamara Murphy. Saturday’s program begins with a guided tour of the Allison’s vineyard and chef’s garden with vintners and the Allison’s head gardener, Anna Ashby. Guests will then interact with the premium hands-on culinary demo from Ben Jacobson (February) and Kristen Murray (MAURICE) followed by an intimate lounge conversation moderated by Liz Crain featuring the weekend’s special guests, chefs and local luminaries. The afternoon includes ample time to unwind at the Allison’s Spa.
Each all-inclusive two-night Allison Cuvée Weekend package ($1,600 per couple) offers accommodations in a deluxe king room with fireplace, entry to the Friday night Cuvée Stroll tasting, two dinners (wine included), two breakfasts at JORY, and Saturday’s program. Guests will depart from their escape with a gift bag that includes a bottle of the Allison Inn’s own estate release, a 2012 Austin Knoll Pinot Noir. Tax and gratuity are included. Packages and tickets to the Friday night tasting reception may be purchased on the Allison Inn’s website.
In continuing support of Oregon’s agricultural community, the Allison Inn & Spa is donating a portion of each package to Friends of Family Farmers.
